Iconic architectural image of World War II Observation Tower in Prouts Neck, Maine that primarily functioned to direct ancillary fire to protect Portland Harbor from enemy attack. During the post war era, this structure became a daily reminder of the area's contribution to the war effort before being removed in 2004.
